Paper Feet, created by Michigan native Jimmy Tomczak, are portable footwear made from recycled vinyl banners. The idea came to him when he was looking for something to dull the pain of a sharp gravel road on his walk to the lake. He wanted something that would maintain the barefoot experience with maximum portability and without the high price of existing minimalist footwear. After experimenting with a few different types of materials Jimmy finally decided on billboard vinyl for its strength, durability, and shape-retaining properties.
Paper Feet will be donating dozens of pairs of their footwear that the Shoebaru team will be passing out during school and orphanage visits on their way to Cape Town.
